Preparations for TAKE48 2025 are underway. We will be announcing the challenge dates and some additional key information shortly.

Prizes will be awarded for the overall challenge winners​

2025 will also see the inclusion of additional non-prize awards (such as Best Narrative, Best Cinematography, Best Post-Production etc), so we can further congratulate the success of those who finish the challenge.

QUALIFYING, JUDGING, FINALISTS & SCREENING
HOW DOES IT WORK?

Films that are completed and submitted on time, whilst following all the Challenge Rules and Terms & Conditions, will proceed as QUALIFYING films.

The TAKE48 and SUFF teams will then watch all the QUALIFYING films, and score them based off a set criteria, which covers:
- Creative use of the all the theme items (30%)
- Narrative elements (30%)
- Production elements (20%)
- Post-Production elements (20%)

Using these results;
a) The 20 top films the progress as FINALISTS and are shared with the judging panel. The judging panel then scores them (using the same criteria as above), and the overall challenge winners are decided based of their results.
b) We will fit as many films as possible into the allocated cinema screening. This usually ranges between 30-40 films, depending on individual film run-times. Unfortunately, due to limitations of cinema screenings, we cannot guarantee that all qualifying films will be screened.

The TAKE48 & SUFF teams will chose the films that receive the non-prize awards.
Online Screening Room
All qualifying films, finalists, and prize/award winners will also feature in the TAKE48 online screening room, which is a page showcasing all the films that have been created for TAKE48 over the years, so they can live on in their eternal glory! Click here to visit the Online Screening Room.
Featured throwback
Alongside the online screening room, a different TAKE48 film from a previous year of the challenge will feature every month on the homepage, as well as being shared on our socials!
CHALLENGE THEME
Every year, all TAKE48 participants are required to include a theme within their film. The theme includes a mystery item and line of dialogue, plus, a bonus theme that is unique to each year (e.g. genre, sound, camera move, edit technique etc).

The theme is announced via social media, email and this website, as the challenge begins.

All participants must include every theme element in their film, as they are described. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from screening and prizes, so make sure you don’t miss any of the details!

FILMMAKERS' HUB
The TAKE48 Filmmakers' Hub is made available to all TAKE48 participants. Here participants can access all the info they need, from the theme reveal, submission process information, and additional challenge details.
It also contains a variety of online learning resources and tools that participants can leverage to expand their filmmaking skills and to further enhance their experience of the challenge.
FILM SUBMISSION
Films must be submitted through our online portal before the challenge deadline.

Failure to submit before the deadline may result in disqualification from prizes and screening, so make sure you leave yourself enough time for submission!
Full film submission details, including a back-up method in case of internet issues, are shared after registration via the Filmmakers' Hub. Check your registration email for a link.
